Amy: Welcome back to the show. I'm Amy Green sky, and I'm here with a latest one, the energy Maven. And today we want to talk about whether spirituality belongs in your business. Um, Aleyah is an energy healer who works with entrepreneurs and she focuses on helping them clear blocks connect with their divine support system and realign with their purpose. Welcome Alayah. So what does it really mean to have spirituality in your

Aleyah: Business? Yeah, um, you know, some people are spiritual, but keep a wall between themselves and their personal life and their business professional life. And that's a really big mistake because spirituality is basically a form of self care. It infuses your business with a higher energy that your clients can feel when they work with you. When you're taking care of your spirit, you know, they just, you have more juice and you've got a clarity and a sense of purpose and light around you that other people can feel. And they just like being around you and trust you more. And the wonderful thing about spirituality is it's not religion, so it's very customizable to your own interests. And, you know, it's, of course we all know like a lot of different forms of spirituality and how it can show up completely differently for different people. And that's, what's so wonderful about it is that it's just, you know, whatever nurtures your spirit, your heart and soul.

Aleyah: Right. I would say there's some things that are kind of across the board for everyone that I work with. Like getting out in nature. That seems to be just something that feeds everybody's spirit and that we all need. Right. Yeah. So, but then, you know, like I'm super into angels, but some other really spiritual people that I know are not, they're super into like Buddhist style meditation and it doesn't matter. It's just, whatever is calling you and your spirit and carving out that sacred time for yourself just has a profound effect in your life. And your,

Amy: I love that. Um, well, what are some problems that people face if they, they don't integrate spirituality into their business or if they're actively avoiding it?

Aleyah: Well, I know personally for me, I feel like trying to do anything without having spirituality as my foundation is kind of like trying to sit on a two legged stool. It just doesn't work for me. I get cloudy, I get cranky. I don't know what I'm doing anymore that day. I just feel off. Um, so I've learned that I have to meditate. I've got to get outside, you know, things like that before I hit the computer. Um, and I work with a lot of entrepreneurs who get, you know, burnout, they get overwhelmed. Um, they just don't feel clear or, you know, they forget why they're even doing what they're doing. They just forget what their purpose is. They forget to ask for help. That's a really big one. So, you know, if you're, if you, um, avoid spirituality in your business, those are some of the common pitfalls.

Aleyah: And of course those things are going to come up anyway, but just having a spiritual foundation gives you tools to navigate those stormy seas when they do arise. Right. Yeah. And, um, you know, even in the corporate world, uh, you know, if you don't have a spiritual focus or ethical focus, you know, those are the companies that we sort of have a negative association with, right? Like they're hurting the planet or, or, you know, people are, they're just, you know, we see them as greedy and, you know, that's, I know the corporate world is very different than the entrepreneurial world, but, you know, that's just kind of the epitome of what a business looks like without having a spiritual focus. And there's, they've even been doing research about that for the last couple of decades, about how bringing spiritual values into the workplace and caring about people and the planet, you know, actually benefits the company and the employees. And not only is there increased productivity and profitability, but both the customers and clients and employees stick around longer. And they just have a warmer, fuzzier feeling about companies that have spiritual values. You know, like if you're, you know, a lot of people prefer to work with companies that give back in some way, and even the big guys are doing that now. Yeah. And I feel like for heart-centered entrepreneurs, you know, that's a very important piece in their own and, you know, in a small business as well.

Amy: Exactly. Well, and I think it's, it's almost just like, like you mentioned, it's like the energy that gets put out there, it, people can tell it's like, when, when you're, when you're out to do good things, it's almost like interacting with that company or with that entrepreneur, whether you're their client or you're working with them as a, as a coworker, it makes a huge difference what their, and their focuses, you know, if it's more heart centered than profit centered.

Aleyah: Yeah. And in a smaller heart center business, I guess it really applies to the bigger guys too, but people really feel if you're not walking your walk. So if you're putting out messages of, you know, caring about other people or trying to lead people into some sort of emotional, you know, transformation or spiritual transformation, but you yourself are not living by those practices. You know, people can smell it on you. They can feel it from you. Like your energy is just different. And subconsciously we all pick up on that. Right. So if you're trying to, you know, that happened recently where I was working with someone who wasn't quite clear about why there was a disconnect between her and her audience. And she was, you know, extremely like a lot of entrepreneurs, very type a and very perfectionistic and hard on herself. And so, but yet she was holding the space for other, you know, women to transform and heal, but not giving herself the same compassion and empathy that she wanted these other women to experience in her workshops. Right. And that just doesn't work. You have to give it to yourself.

Amy: Right. Is it even possible to hold that space? If you're, if you're not holding it for yourself, you know, it's like, what can you give others if you're not able to give that to yourself?

Aleyah: Yeah. That's, it's so true. And so that's another reason if you have a hard time taking care of yourself for yourself sake, do it for your audience and all the people that you want to flock to your business because they can feel the difference.

Amy: Right? Yeah. It's almost like the analogy of, you know, putting your oxygen mask on first, before you help somebody else with theirs. It's like, you have to be able to have something that's sustaining you so that you have the strength and the energy to, to help others. Absolutely. Um, so what would your business look like if you integrated more spirituality into your life overall?

Aleyah: Well, I have seen just really big things happen with clients who are integrating more spirituality into their life. I've seen big things happen in their business, as well as little things. Like, you know, if you're trying to find a new, um, like a new CRM, for example, like active campaign MailChimp, you know, and you don't know what you are gonna choose, you know, you might spend the entire day just like researching and confused, you know, feel confused about it and not feel clear. And you're just like, get overwhelmed just by reading about, you know, 10 different CRMs. But if, yeah, right. And so if you've meditated that day and let's say you went for a little, like even a 30 minute hike or walk or something, or did your yoga class in the morning and got grounded before you got on the internet to research CRMs, um, and even called in, you know, help from your guides and said, you know, Hey, guide me to the right CRM for me today. Yeah. You know, you might feel, get a thought of inspiration to just put it out on Facebook and ask everyone, you know, like what CRM do you use and why? And you might get your answer back, you know, instantly or within an hour. And then you have, you know, the rest of your day to go onto something else instead of spending 10 hours confused, frustrated, and, you know, in the bowels of the CRM world, which is where no one wants to be.

Amy: Exactly. It's almost like it helps you get aligned with your intuition a little bit better. And even just to clear that space, you know, in your mind, it's like, instead of just trying to look at every possible solution and getting more Confused, it's like, What are some other ways that we can solve this

Aleyah: Exactly. The intuition piece that's, what's so important

Amy: And do creative work. And, um, I once read this book called the artist's way and they talked about, um, the need to fill your wealth. And a lot of it had to do with self care. Like they were saying, creativity is something where, um, it gets expended and then once it's used up, you have to sort of go out and find ways to fill your well again, so that you can sort of regain that creativity instead of just trying to push through and force creative ideas. And so that's what this, your examples sort of reminded me of that. It's like a more creative ways to, you know, ask your, ask your group and see if anybody has some ideas instead of just doing it the hard way.

Aleyah: Yeah, absolutely. And that's an inspired thought and I think inspiration does not come from burnout. We never have inspired thoughts when we're burned out right now. It comes, you know, that is a type of creative force that only comes through when we're connected and charged up. Yeah. And I worked with a client yesterday that I've been working with consistently for over a year now, and she's really a more linear, but also very open to spiritual practices and has been consistently, you know, integrating more and more into her spiritual life. And, and it's kind of leaked over, you know, into her business, you know, using the, her spiritual tools in her business. And it is so fun to see the magical things happening for her, you know, by using her spiritual tools. And you know, now we're at the point of we've cleared so much energy around like ancestors and personal, you know, stuff.

Aleyah: And so now our sessions are really on magical things like, you know, really setting intentions and manifesting and, you know, and her business is just getting bigger and better, you know, every month. And every launch she does is just, you know, increasing. And she's just feeling like it's so easy to find the people that she needs to connect with. That's her audiences growing. And, you know, it's just, she's getting just more and more abundant in her business because she's at this point where she's cleared out all this old stuff and old energy blocks, and now we get to have fun, you know, just, you know, being creative and manifesting.

Amy: That's awesome. Yeah. I think, I think sometimes especially people that tend to be a little bit type a, or that are, um, really, um, immersed in the, the work of their business. They have this idea that if they just work harder and faster, that eventually things will get easier, but it almost sounds like what you're saying is getting back to sort of your spiritual center and clearing the things that are blocking you in the first place and creating a little bit more ease and flow in your business. It will actually allow things to, to align instead of trying to, instead of trying to hammer your way through it and force it to align, it's almost, it's like a completely different approach, but it seems like one bit, and it's probably a bit more effective

Aleyah: For sure. I agree. And yeah, you just get more flow in your life, which translates over into your business as well as just things are easier.

Amy: Yeah. Yeah. And we could all use that. So, uh, what are some tips? Do you have some ways, uh, that people can, you know, intentionally try to integrate more spirituality into their business?

Aleyah: Yes. For sure. You know, and if you already have like a meditation practice, you know, bring it right on into your business, you know, include some meditations around your business. I mean, we have seminar launch squad program where we really integrate the two, you know, the spiritual aspect of ourselves with the, you know, growing our business. And that can be so effective. I mean, if you're someone who prays, you know, don't wait until things are going wrong, you know, like just go ahead and, you know, set intentions around your day, every day when you get up in the morning, like, what kind of day do you want to have? What do you have on your calendar that's related to your business that you can, you know, have a visualization around or meditate on or bring in some help around. Right. Yeah.

Amy: I love the idea of integrating it specifically into your business. Cause I think sometimes people see spirituality as sort of this personal thing and, and it comes more naturally like, you know, maybe meditating, just, you know, on your personal time or, or like seeing a prayer about something that's going on with you, you know, just in your, in your regular day to day life. But then when it comes to business, it's almost like people have this tendency to sort of keep that separate, you know, it's like, it's all business or you just have to be it's, you know, it's professional and that spirit doesn't enter into it. So I love these tips.

Aleyah: Yeah. And some people feel, I mean, having learned that it's, um, Oh, I think of like Marianne Williamson running for president and like the, all the flack she got in the media for, and she's not even a very like woo person. I wouldn't say like, her spirituality feels very grounded and you know, to me, when I listened to her, she's not even talking about a lot of the stuff that I'm super into, like angel guides, and she's still caught so much flack for that from the general public. So I think people, you know, if there's look inside yourself, see if you have any fear around expressing that aspect of yourself. Because I think that that wall, that separates people, um, that we put up in our minds around spirituality and business comes from, you know, years of growing up and seeing people get sort of persecuted in the media, or you might've been bullied, you know, as a child or seen as weird or different if you talk about spirituality.

Aleyah: But I think we're in a new age where that does not have to be the case. And there's a lot more acceptance of the healthiness of, you know, nurturing your spirit and, and crossing over. But a lot of times we just have that mental block because of our own experiences and we don't even realize that we're doing it. Yeah. If that makes sense. And so I think it's always good to just check on that. See if you have that. And if you do have a conversation with yourself around it, or talk about it with somebody else and work on just clearing that and realizing it is safe for you to, I mean, you, and you don't even have to have a spiritual business right. To integrate the spiritual tools into your business life. So no one even needs to know that you're doing it. Like you don't have to be someone who's like preaching about meditation for, to be able to meditate every day and have a consistent practice that keeps you grounded and clear.

Amy: Exactly. Yeah. And I, and I think as more, um, as more, I almost wonder if it's even in particular with women starting their own businesses and experiencing this sense of burnout that, um, that we sometimes do feel like there has to be a better way, you know, it's like you're doing what society has sort of told you to do, which is like work harder, work faster, be more productive and sort of ignore those feelings of like, Oh, this, you know, this doesn't feel aligned. And I just wonder if we sometimes intuitively sense that something's off and then we're looking for this way to do it differently. So I just think the idea of like encouraging business owners to just because it's been done a certain way for so long, it's like, let's look at a healthier and more balanced way to go forward.

Aleyah: Yes, absolutely. And I think that's kind of the magic of the entrepreneurial world, right? It's sort of creating a whole new way of doing business and being able to be heart-centered in your business and connect with people on a deeper level than what we saw, maybe in corporate eighties, you know, growing up

Amy: It's sort of connection, connection based marketing, as opposed to some of the, you know, more manipulative techniques that they used to use in the past. It's, you know, it's like putting, putting yourself out there becoming balanced and, and, um, able to, to be aligned with your own values spiritually and then, and then sort of conveying that to your clients and having them connect with you on that level, I think is such a more beautiful way to work than to just always sort of be pushing and trying to, you know, to sell and create more widgets,

Aleyah: Amen. And really when we do take breaks and take the time to feed ourselves spiritually, creatively, you know, in all those ways, connect with nature, like we were, we come back more productive anyways. So it's just something that I need reminding of too. It's like, if we're, you know, if you are trying to push through chances are it's going to take you several hours longer than if you would just take a break and come back to it. When you feel refreshed, you're going to be more clear and productive anyway. Right.

Amy: Counterintuitive, but that's such an important point. You know, it's like when you're feeling your most overwhelmed, that's probably the time when you should take a break.

Aleyah: Yes, absolutely. And get recharged. And, you know, I think that there's a lot of different ways to create those sacred moments and sacred space in your office and in your work life, but just, you know, finding a way that works for you, like having a little altar in your office or a vision board or something that reminds you. I mean, we all need reminding well, otherwise we tend to forget right when we're, when we're working. So I like to have stuff around my computer. I have my crystals, I have my angel cards. I have a poster on my wall of a tree that it's got a beautiful point. You know, things like that. That just inspire me when I'm working and doing stuff that has nothing to do with spirituality. I like to still have those reminders. And I like to sit by a window where I can look outside and see little birds at the hummingbird feeder. And you know, there's a lot of ways that you can just integrate it into your Workday. I love that. Awesome.

Amy: Um, well, it's been so helpful to talk about some of these things that I think we, we often overlook and I, I, I, all the tips that you offered, I'm going to incorporate those into, into my daily life as I've been experiencing some burnout lately. I just, I love this conversation. So thank you so much, Aleyah. It's been so great talking with you. Oh, absolutely. My pleasure. Thanks for joining us.
