A few weeks ago I was on a “get to know you” call with a woman who is a coach and healer.
She had filled out a form prior to our call, so I had a little background information ahead of time:
– Current income level: $50k-$100k
– Desired income level in 12 months: $750k
YOWZA! That’s a pretty big jump, 7.5x more than her current income. So I got curious.
I acknowledged her very clear dream to get to $750k and celebrated the goal with her. And, with my business coach hat on, I asked her if she had a specific strategy in place that will ensure she gets to that dream…
Her response: “No, I just know it will happen. But it’s not my job to know the ‘how’.”
Here’s where I don’t align with the common teachings of the Law of Attraction.
For any goal set in life, you must have at least some strategy behind it.
It’s not like I could show up to my 2nd graders and expect them to achieve benchmark standards by the end of the year without some sort of strategy, AKA curriculum to inform the pathway.
And it’s the same in business.
You can’t set a goal that you have no idea how to achieve, because your mind won’t believe it.
And you most certainly won’t be taking the right action steps to get there, the very same action steps the inform you, teach you and allow you to grow in the direction of your goal.
This woman I spoke to wants to do business in a nonchalant way, which is okay, truly. But if you’re operating from nonchalance, you’re got going to get to your goal in any sort of timely manner.
I don’t know about you, but my goals are set based on what I want to create and have happen in my life over the next 1-2 years. I’m not perfect at it, but it’s my intention that every action I take is aligned with the goals I’ve set.
So the question I want you to be able to take from this is…
Does my decision align with my vision?
🙈 If I wake up in the morning with an “I don’t want to…” attitude…
🙈 If I find my next mentor or program that is the absolute best fit for where I want to go next, but I say “no” because I don’t want to spend the money / use credit…
🙈 If I shrink back and don’t go for an amazing opportunity because it might be a lot of work, or stretch me greatly, or make me more visible than ever…
I ask myself: Does my decision align with my vision?
And if it doesn’t, I know I must change my decision.
Here’s my promise to you, .
If you keep making decisions that align with your vision, it’s inevitable that you’ll get there.
